Great Idea, I have a bunch of experience in social media at a local level. Some of the things that we have been working on is helping Franchisors contain the "rouge" Facebook and twitter accounts that might be diluting their brand image. In regards to best practices we have found that a Franchisees local social media should be based around information giving. What local events are going on, cross reference another local business, or highlight employees, just a few ideas.
