Nowadays, it's all about social networking. One would say that it s more rewarding than direct mail or email have ever been. The opinions are obviously different from one to another. As a franchise, do you believe that the use of twitter is really as powerful as they say? I personally don't agree. After creating a myspace, a linked in, an okrut, a twitter and more... i found myself spending a lot of time/money updating all these profiles. What a waste! I have followers on my twitter that never contacted me and don't even know who i am or what i do. Same as the thousands of "friends" i have on social networks. So, I would ask the question. What's the buzz is all about?

You could say that if you pick the right social network and focus on it [or may be 2 or 3] then it could work. So, i guess the final questions is... which one to pick?

In my humble opinion and with my xxxx years of experience, i am convinced that you cannot survive on social networking alone and still need to go back to the "old" channel and methods which are still showing the same success rate if not increased over the past 3 years.

I would be interested to hear about your own experience and how you utilize or not social networking to develop your franchise.
