Just go through the process of looking at a franchise that interests you and they will send you a UFOC. It doesn't cost you anything but a little time. Most franchise reps will send the UFOC shortly after you begin talking to them.
If you are not sure about what franchise you might be interested in, talk to a good franchise consultant. I can refer you to a couple. I can also give you a few tips about them (like most of them work from a very limited list of concepts).

| hey thx for the reply. ya, that would be great if you refer me to some good business consulants. i'm in the army right now and just thinking about opening up a franchise when i get out. first i'm going to get out and work for a few years and build up enough cash to fund my franchise, so it will probably be like 3 years or so before i actually buy into a franchise. i've just been doing some reading on franchising and just trying to study up to get my ducks in a row and learn everything i can about franchising before i raise all the cash i want to fund it. do you think working for a few years is unnessiary and i should just go into debt and get a loan? well, write back if you get a chance

The best way to find out is to visit a franchisee of the type of company you are looking into. If you are looking at a Subway, for instance, check with a local franchisee and see how things are going. Take into consideration the location, the surrounding business's and other factors. You can go to melissadata.com and check counts in areas. I also would check into several franchise companies, not just one. I hope this helps.
