| Here is some generic information from an old reference document we had on our file server. Generally, our folks have a blend of duties and compensation ranges. This may or may not help but wanted to throw something your way. Hopefully, others will do the same. JG ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT Duties: | ¨ Handles initial inquiries from prospective franchisees ¨ Screens and pre-qualifies prospective franchise candidates ¨ Performs administrative tasks as needed ¨ Manages web site inquiries and e-mail. | Qualifications: | ¨ Must be articulate and able to understand the screening process ¨ Must be “hands-on” in approach and comfortable working in a small office environment ¨ Must possess strong phone skills ¨ Must be organized and handle multiple tasks at once ¨ Attention to detail a must. |
SALES PERSON Duties: | ¨ Interviews potential franchise buyers ¨ Qualifies potential buyers ¨ Advises buyers regarding financing ¨ Negotiates with franchise buyers ¨ Closes deals with franchisees. | Qualifications: | ¨ 2 - 3 years sales experience with strong qualifying and closing experience required ¨ Technical knowledge of franchise or business sales preferred ¨ Must be aggressive team player ¨ College degree preferred. |

Here's my personal draft job description: Department Business Development Reports To FLSA Status Non-Exempt Prepared Date February 21st, 2008 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business Development Related - Manages and assists in the analyzing, planning, research, and development of organization's objectives and strategic plans in order to achieve business opportunities, growth, and financial profitability.
- Develops plans to achieve growth and financial profitability through the development and execution of a business opportunity and evaluation process
- Oversees and participates in development and research activities involving building on company strengths, identifying potential new markets and business opportunities, increasing share of market, and obtaining a competitive position in the industry.
- Helps administer company strategic plans.
- Confers with department staff and reviews activity and operating reports.
- Promotes organization in industry trade associations.
Legal Related - Oversees and coordinates legal activities and functions to ensure the organization's legal posture is developed and maintained.
- Establishes legal services required by the organization and ensures that the organization is protected from any legal action.
- Works with all departments on developing and modifying policies and procedures to conform to legal requirements.
- Serves as liaison with carefully selected outside legal firms and monitors and evaluates their activities.
- Writes/reviews contracts and oversees contract administrative process..
- Coordinates filing for trademarks and copyrights, filings and responses to lawsuits using outside counsel when necessary.
Franchise Sales Related - Manages franchisee prospect and awarding process

- Closes deals with franchisees and completes sales file
